How to form the Conditional-form
The Conditional-form is used to express a condition.
⚫️ Group 1
Change the “i” sound before ~masu to an “e” sound and add “ba“.
i ます → e ば
– i masu → – e ba
| かいます かきます およぎます さがします たちます しにます はこびます すみます おわります kai-masu kaki-masu oyogi-masu sagashi-masu tachi-masu shini-masu hakobi-masu sumi-masu owari-masu | かえば かけば およげば さがせば たてば しねば はこべば すめば おわれば kae–ba kake–ba oyoge–ba sagase–ba tate–ba shine–ba hakobe–ba sume–ba oware–ba |
⚫️ Group 2
Replace “~masu” with “~reba“.
ます → れば
masu → reba
| はじめます しらべます おきます かります hajime-masu shirabe-masu oki-masu kari-masu | はじめれば しらべれば おきれば かりれば hajime-reba shirabe-reba oki-reba kari-reba |
⚫️ Group 3
| きます します さんぽ します ki-masu shi-masu sanpo shi-masu | くれば すれば さんぽ すれば kureba sureba sanpo sureba |
