Grammar Note

The Volitional Form is the casual version of “~mashou”, used to say “Let’s” or to express one’s intentions.

⚫️ Group 1

Change the “i” sound before ~masu to an “o” sound and add “u“.

i ますo う
– i masu → – ō

⚫️ Group 2

Replace “~masu” with “~yō“.

ますよう
masu → yō
