⚫️ ても
meaning : ても = even if“ても” is opposite of “たら”. It is used when the thing or action which expected naturally doesn’t happen under certain condition.
verb
moshi ashita ame [ga] futta-ra, tsuri [niwa] iki-masen.
( If it rains tomorrow, I won’t go fishing. )
もし あした あめが ふっても、つりに いきます。
moshi ashita ame [ga] futte-mo, tsuri [ni] iki-masu.
( Even if it rains tomorrow, I will go fishing. )
i-adjective
nemu-katta-ra, benkyō shi-naide haya-ku ne-masu.
( If I’m sleepy, I go to bed early without studying. )
ねむくても、よる おそくまで べんきょう します。
nemu-kutemo, yoru oso-ku [made] benkyō shi-masu.
( Even if I’m sleepy, I study late at night. )
na-adjective
benri-datta-ra, sono apuri [o] tsukai-tai-desu.

⚫️ のに・ても
meaning : のに / ても = even thoughOpposite of “ので” is “のに” and “ても”. A result which is not expected from the sentence of the first clause is said in the following clause. It shows speaker’s surprised or dissatisfied feeling in the following clause.

daietto [o] shita-node, yase-mashita.
( I lost weight because I went on diet. )

daietto [o] shita-noni, yase-masen.
ダイエットを しても、やせません。
daietto [o] shite-mo, yase-masen.
( Even though I went on diet, I don’t lost weight. )
yoku neta-node, nemu-kunaidesu.
( I’m not sleepy because I slept well. )
yoku neta-noni, nemui-desu.
よく ねても、ねむいです。
yoku nete-mo nemui-desu.
( Even though I slept well, I’m sleepy. )
