Verbます たいです

meaning : want to do

It is used when you talk about your desire.

にほんへ いきたいです。
( I want to go to Japan. )
Particle

When the verb is transitive verb, the “object” is often marked by “が“

わたしは おちゃを のみたいです。
わたしは おちゃが のみたいです。

( I want to drink tea. )
Conjugation

“Verb-たいです” conjugates as i-Adjective.

・いきたいです
　( want to go )

・いきたくないです
　( don’t want to go )

・いきたかったです
　( wanted to go )

・いきたくなかったです
　( didn’t want to go )

かいます・ねます・します

Nounが ほしいです

meaning : I want something.

Particle

“ほしいです” is i-Adjective, and the “object” is always marked by “が“

みずが ほしいです。
( I want water. )

When you talk about someone else’s “desire”, you should say “… ようです・そうです・らしいです”.

かのじょは おちゃを のみたいようです。
( She wants to drink tea. )
カレンは にほんじんの ともだちが ほしいらしいです。
