Grammar Note
⚫️ いきます・きます・かえります
いきます : to go
mainichi gakkō [e] iki-masu.
( I go to school everyday. )
きます : to come
kinō tomodachi [ga] watashi [no] ie [ni] ki-mashita.
( My friend came to my house yesterday. )
かえります : to go or come back to one’s home or where you were
sūpā [ni] itta-ato, uchi [ni’ kaeri-masu.
( After I go to the supermarket, I’m going home. )
⚫️ place へ
meaning : to a place“へ” is read as “e”, not “he”.
watashi [wa] kyō shinjuku [e] iki-mashita.
( I went to Shinjuku today. )
⚫️ … から きました
meaning : I’m from …“きました ( Past tense )” is used to say where you are from.
watashi [wa] amerika [kara] ki-mashita.
( I’m from United States. )
⚫️ … が きます
“が” is used for a subject marker, when you talk about something the listener doesn’t know.

sono kaigi [niwa] dare [ga] ki-masuka?
( Who is coming to the meeting? )
B : やまださんと ささきさんが きます。
yamada-san [to] sasaki-san [ga] ki-masu.
( Mr.Yamada and Ms.Sasaki are coming. )
⚫️ Verb Masu-form + にいきます
meaning : to go … ingIt means to go to some place for certain purpose.
atarashī heya [o] mi-ni-iki-masu.
( I’m going to go viewing my new room. )
Verb
⚫️ Noun にいきます
It means that you go some place for the purpose of “noun”.
shibuya [e] kaimono [ni] iki-masu.
( I’ll go shopping to Shibuya. )
kankō [ni] iki-masu.
( I’ll go sightseeing. )
