Subject は Noun です
Usually ‘は’ is used in ‘Noun Sentence’
watashi [wa] nihonjin-desu.
( I am Japanese. )
Subject が Noun です
‘が’ is used when you emphasize that ‘I am the one’
watashi [ga] suzuki-desu.
( I am Suzuki. ( not anyone else ). )
Question Word が Verb か?
‘が’ is used when a Question word is immediately before
dare [ga] ki-mashitaka?
( Who came? )
Subject は Adjective です
‘は’ is used in ‘Adjective sentence’
rāmen [wa] oishī-desu.
( Ramen noodle is good. )
Subject は Verb ます
‘は’ is used in a general statement
nihonjin [wa] hashi [o] tsukai-masu.
( Japanese people use chopsticks. )
Subject は Verb ます
‘は’ is used when you do it regularly
watashi [wa] mainichi hon [o] yomi-masu.
( I read a book everyday. )
いいえ、Object は Verb ません
‘は’ is used in a negative replay
tanaka-san [wa] kōhī [o] nomi-masuka?
( Do you drink coffee? )
B : いいえ、コーヒー [は] のみません。
Īe, kōhī [wa] nomi-masen.
( No, I don’t drink coffee. )

Object of the following adjectives is marked by ‘が’
