⚫️ Plain Form かどうか
meaning : if … ( or not )This is a dependent clause which means “if … “.
kare [ga] kuru-kadōka wakari-masen.
( I don’t know if he’s coming or not. )
たなかさんは コーヒーを のむかどどうか わかりません。
tanaka-san [wa] kōhī [o] nomu-kadōka wakari-masen.
It means …
たなかさんは コーヒーをのみますか？ のみませんか？ ( わたしは ) わかりません。
The verbs that typically come after “かどうか…” are as below.

Plain-form かどうか

⚫️ Question Word … Plain Form か
This is a dependent clause with a question word. It is used when you’re not certain about something.
watashi [wa] nani [ga] okita-ka wakari-masen.
( I don’t know what happened. )
The verbs that typically come after ” … か” are same as “Plain Form かどうか”. ( わかります・しっています・おしえます・はなします etc. )
kanojo [ga] doko [ni] iru-ka oshiete-kudasai.
( Please let me know where she is. )
‘party’ [ni] dare [ga] kuru-ka shitte-imasuka?
( Do you know who is coming to the party? )
