How to form the Prohibitive-form
The Prohibitive Form is used to strictly forbid someone from doing something or to give strong “Don’t do” commands.
⚫️ Group 1
Change the “i” sound before ~masu back to the “u” sound (Dictionary-form) and add “na“.
i ます → u な
– i masu → – u na
| つかいます いきます およぎます さがします たちます しにます あそびます やすみます はしります tsukai-masu iki-masu oyogi-masu sagashi-masu tachi-masu shini-masu asobi-masu yasumi-masu hashiri-masu | つかうな いくな およぐな さがすな たつな しぬな あそぶな やすむな はしるな tsukau–na iku–na oyogu–na sagasu–na tatsu–na shinu–na asobu–na yasumu–na hashiru–na |
⚫️ Group 2
Replace “~masu” with “~ru-na“.
ます → るな
masu → runa
