Grammar Note

The Te-form is a vital verb form used to connect sentences or express ongoing actions. Its conjugation depends on the verb group:

⚫️ Group 1

For Group 1 verbs, the ending changes based on the last syllable of the stem:

  • いちり → って (i・chi・ri → tte)
  • にびみ → んで (ni・bi・mi → nde)
  • き → いて (ki → ite)
  • ぎ → いで (gi → ide)
  • し → して (shi → shite)

irregular

⚫️ Group 2

Just replace “~masu” with “~te“:

ます → て
masu → te

⚫️ Group 3
